Falmouth Declares Level 2 Significant Drought

FALMOUTH — Falmouth moved to a Level 2 Significant Drought status Wednesday, according to a town News Flash update, as ongoing sewer-project road closures continue to disrupt travel on two village streets.

TOWN HALL

The town posted an "8/12 UPDATE" declaring a Level 2 Significant Drought designation, per the official Falmouth News Flash feed. The posting did not detail specific new water-use restrictions tied to the upgraded status; residents can find the full alert on the town's website.

Sewer-project construction continues to close two roads on weekdays. Brick Kiln Road remains shut between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road, and a new detour began the week of August 10 closing Maravista Avenue between Nickerson Street and Randolph Street. Both closures run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, the town said.
