Falmouth posts no-swimming signs at Megansett after bacteria test
FALMOUTH — Falmouth's Department of Public Health posted "no swimming" signs at Megansett Beach on Thursday after a water sample collected Wednesday, July 15, showed elevated bacteria levels, the town announced. Officials are awaiting additional test results before deciding when the beach can reopen.

The town says the signage went up within an hour of Barnstable County's notification, per standard procedure for elevated bacteria readings. No timeline for reopening has been set; the town says it will post an update once follow-up samples come back.
