Five Bourne Boards Set To Meet Thursday

BOURNE — Bourne's civic calendar is stacked for the back half of the week, with five town boards and committees scheduled to meet Thursday, while Bourne Public Schools continues a run of welcome-back events ahead of the new school year.

SCHOOLS

Bourne Public Schools has several first-week events on the calendar in the coming days. Bourne Intermediate School holds a welcome day and a "Getting Ready for School" session Wednesday, August 26, the same day the district wraps a second day of new teacher orientation. Staff return for an in-service day Monday, August 31, when Bournedale Elementary and Bourne Middle School each hold welcome events, followed by a district staff orientation day and a Bourne High School welcome event for grades 8 and 9 on Tuesday, September 1.

COMING UP

Thursday, August 27 brings a cluster of town meetings: the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School committee, the Bourne Housing Authority, the Select Board Policy Subcommittee, the Trustees of the Jonathan Bourne Public Library, and the Planning Board all have sessions on the calendar. The Board of Assessors meets Friday, August 28.

On the schools side, Bourne Intermediate School's welcome day and "Getting Ready for School" session are set for Wednesday, August 26; Bournedale Elementary and Bourne Middle School hold welcome events Monday, August 31; and Bourne High School welcomes grades 8 and 9 on Tuesday, September 1.
