HARWICH — The Harwich Golf Committee voted unanimously to recommend a $50 increase in resident annual pass fees and a 4 percent green-fee hike for the 2027 season at Cranberry Valley Golf Course. Director of Golf Roman Greer said the plan, built with the town's finance director and endorsed by the town administrator, raises the debt surcharge on annual passes from $160 to $210 and pushes the peak green fee from $90 to $94, bringing a full resident annual pass to $1,010 for 2027. The surcharge funds an ongoing irrigation upgrade, a fiscal 2029 bunker renovation and an eventual maintenance building replacement deferred to fiscal 2032.
Resident Dale Kennedy told the committee during public comment that "these prices are an absolute bargain" compared with South Shore private courses like Pine Hills. The committee, chaired by Paul White with members John McCaffrey, Karen Doucette and Jay Adams, also endorsed a non-binding 2028-2030 rate framework and committed to reviewing receipts and the debt schedule annually. The recommendation now goes to the Select Board for final adoption.
