Harwich Board Approves Smaller Queen Anne Road Contractor Bay Building

HARWICH — May 26, 2026 — Harwich Planning Board approves a trimmed contractor bay permit and delays a Route 28 multifamily hearing to June 9. The board unanimously amended a previously approved special permit for Tigger Realty Trust at 237 Queen Anne Road, shrinking the proposed one-story steel building from 8,877 square feet to 7,480 square feet with five contractor bays and 33 parking spaces, and removing a fencing condition that had been inadvertently carried forward from an earlier draft. On a separate matter, the board continued a public hearing for CEZ and V LLC at 297 Route 28, where agent David Requina of Northeastern Trade Services and engineer Dan Corotto of Ran Engineering Associates are seeking to convert a nearly completed single-family building into four one-bedroom units for the owner's daughters. Chair Duncan Berry said the board could not yet act, citing open stormwater comments from independent reviewer VHB, a pending MassDOT curb cut filing for the widened Route 28 entrance, an outstanding conservation commission referral, and the added complexity of applying multifamily code standards mid-project. Abutters Kristen Carr and Lee Carr of 108 Brooks Road told the board the four-unit garage layout visible during construction never looked like a single-family design. The board scheduled a pre-meeting site visit for 4 p.m. on June 9, 2026, with VHB also set to consult with the applicant's team before that date.
