Other Committee · Meeting of October 22, 2026
ORLEANS — The Orleans Design Review Committee approved five separate exterior-design applications, including a new restaurant deck on Main Street. Project designer John Barker won unanimous approval for a wood deck and pergola at 45 Main Street for Northeast Orleans, a restaurant backers hope to open by November 16. The committee also approved a repaint and roof replacement for the Homeless Prevention Council's 8 Main Street building, presented by Bridget Dixon, and signed off on sign refreshes for a William Raveis real estate office, a law firm's new 29 West Road administrative office presented by manager Chris Ward, and Cape Stretch and Wellness at 8082 Route 6A.
Members flagged existing ground-mounted lighting on one sign as likely out of compliance with the town's Dark Sky bylaw, saying "it doesn't look like it's in compliance because it is going up and it's not shielded," and asked the building commissioner to follow up on the Raveis sign separately.
