Town Committees Line Up Meetings Ahead Of August

Town committees are gearing up for a run of meetings this week, while Bourne Public Schools looks ahead to its next School Committee session and the Canal Region Farmers Market returns to the waterfront Thursday evening.

TOWN HALL

The Police Station Roof Building Committee meets Wednesday, followed Thursday by both the Cape Cod Islands Transportation Advisory Council (CITAC) and the Bourne Community Engagement Committee, according to the town's official meeting calendar. Also this week, town election results from the May 19 Annual Town Election remain posted on the town website, and officials continue to note the recently completed Barlows Landing and Shore Road traffic pattern change and the reopening of Patuisset Beach for swimming, both previously reported.

SCHOOLS

Bourne Public Schools has posted its next School Committee meeting for Wednesday, August 5, at 6 p.m. at Bourne High School, kicking off a run of late-summer district events. The district calendar also lists a Bourne PTA meeting at the Bourne Middle School media center on August 12, a "Meet the Coaches" event at Bourne High School on August 18, and the start of fall sports practices on August 24.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Canal Region Farmers Market & Concerts by the Canal returns Thursday, July 30, offering an evening of local vendors and live music along the waterfront, per the town's community calendar. The Jonathan Bourne Public Library continues its regular schedule this week, open Tuesday through Thursday until 8 p.m. and Friday until 5 p.m., with digital resources including Libby, Kanopy, and Hoopla available to cardholders alongside in-library access to Ancestry for genealogy research.
