Bourne Planning Board Seeks Applicant for Open Seat by September 2

The Bourne Planning Board is looking for a resident to fill a vacant seat through the 2027 Town Election, with applications due by 4 p.m. on September 2, town officials announced this week.

The Bourne Planning Board has one open seat for a term expiring at the 2027 Town Election, according to a News Flash posted on the town's website. Residents interested in serving must submit an application by the September 2 deadline; instructions are available through the town clerk's office. The announcement comes as the town separately continues to seek a resident to fill an open School Committee seat under the same September 2 deadline, a vacancy first announced earlier this week.

SCHOOLS

Bourne Public Schools has several calendar items on tap as the district gears up for the new year. The Bourne PTA will hold a meeting at the Bourne Middle School media center on Wednesday, August 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Looking further ahead, the district has "Meet the Coaches" scheduled at Bourne High School on August 18, with fall sports beginning August 24 and new teacher orientation running August 25 and 26.

COMING UP

Several town meetings and community events are on the calendar over the next week. The Historical Commission meets Tuesday, August 11, followed by a joint meeting of the Bourne Affordable Housing Trust and Bourne Housing Partnership on Wednesday, August 12, and a hybrid Board of Health meeting the same day.
