Bourne Select Board Authorizes OPM Contract for Police Station Roof Project

Select Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026

Bourne Select Board clears OPM hire, votes to fill two board seats, and approves Sagamore Bridge comment letter. The three-member board, meeting August 4 at the Bourne Community Center with Chair Melissa Ferretti presiding, voted 3-0 to authorize Town Administrator Marlene McCollem to negotiate an owner's project manager contract with Pomeroy Associates for the Police Station Roof Building project, following a committee recommendation presented by Clerk Mary Jane Mastrangelo. The board also voted unanimously to advertise vacancies on the Planning Board and School Committee, setting a September 2 letter-of-interest deadline and tentative September 8 Zoom appointments with both bodies.

After a substantive editing session, the board approved 3-0 the submission of a comment letter to MassDOT on the Sagamore Bridge ahead of an August 6 written-comment deadline; Mastrangelo secured amendments removing the word "disappointed" from the mitigation language and changing the closing to read "Bourne Select Board" rather than the chair's name alone. In a separate update, ISWM Building Committee Chair Asa Mintz warned that DEP permitting delays have pushed the $14.25 million transfer station project back six to nine months, raising the prospect of a temporary service gap in the region.
