Capital Planning · Meeting of October 19, 2026
Yarmouth's Capital Budget Committee voted 5-0 to send $650,000 in golf course upgrades and a $550,000 ambulance replacement to the fall Town Meeting warrant. Chair John Peterson led the roll call votes, which followed presentations from Golf Director Scott Gilmer, Director of Natural Resources Dave Condon and IT Director Tim Haniford on wider capital needs. The ambulance, already backed 7-0 by the Finance Committee, is funded from ambulance receipts, requiring "no additional property tax funds." The golf items, covering bathroom renovations and cart path repairs, draw on an enterprise fund Assistant Town Administrator Amy Frigile said holds nearly $3.8 million.
Haniford separately flagged a $165,000 network hardware request, up from $100,000, covering 38 pieces of equipment reaching "end of life." A member raised concerns that fall-cycle items like golf's requests are not being ranked alongside the committee's broader annual prioritization process.
