HIGH SCHOOL -- Falmouth High School's athletics page confirms that registration for the 2026 fall sports season remains open through FamilyID, with tryouts and practices for all fall teams set to begin "Mon, Aug 24th." Fall sports listed include football, boys soccer, girls soccer, cheer, boys golf, volleyball, field hockey and cross country. The school states that "all athletes must be registered through FamilyID with a current physical on file with the high school's nursing office or supplied at first tryout/practice."

COMMUNITY -- At the Aug. 10 Select Board meeting, the chair reminded residents that "this weekend is Road Race Weekend," a reference to the Falmouth Road Race. The board also highlighted the 35th Annual Falmouth Walk, held Saturday at 10 a.m., calling it "an important community event" that "brings people together, and raises money for organizations that are doing great work here in Falmouth."
