Sandwich Town Band Opens August Concert Series This Week

The Sandwich Town Band's summer concert series continues this month with weekly Thursday evening performances, while town boards resume a busy meeting schedule this week including the Select Board and several volunteer commissions.

The Select Board is scheduled to meet Thursday, August 6, with an agenda and packet posted for public review. Earlier in the week, the Commission on Disability and the Conservation Commission both hold meetings Wednesday, August 5, and the North Sagamore Water District meets Thursday alongside the Select Board.

The town continues to seek an Alternate/Associate Member for the Conservation Commission, a volunteer role tasked with helping protect Sandwich's wetlands, open spaces, and other natural resources. Residents interested in serving are asked to complete a Talent Bank Form through the town website.

Ahead of the September 1 State Primary Election, the town has scheduled Voting Equipment Testing for Wednesday, August 19, followed by in-person early voting from Saturday, August 22, through Friday, August 28.

The Sandwich Town Band's Summer Concert Series continues Thursday, August 6, with additional performances scheduled for August 13, 20, and 27. The free outdoor concerts are a longstanding summer tradition drawing residents and visitors to gather in town.

Residents can mark their calendars for several upcoming civic and cultural dates: the Commission on Disability and Conservation Commission meet Wednesday, August 5; the Select Board and North Sagamore Water District meet Thursday, August 6, the same evening as the next Sandwich Town Band concert; the Historic District Committee meets Monday, August 10; Voting Equipment Testing takes place Wednesday, August 19; and in-person early voting for the September 1 State Primary runs Saturday, August 22, through Friday, August 28.
