Town Posts No-Swimming Alert At Megansett After Bacteria Test
The town posted a "no swimming" advisory at Megansett after elevated bacteria levels turned up in a water sample, while crews continue weekday roadwork tied to the sewer project on Brick Kiln Road and Maravista Avenue Extension.

The most immediate news out of Town Hall is a water quality alert for Megansett. The town's July 15 sample test showed elevated bacteria levels, and per standard procedure, "no swimming" signs went up within an hour of the county's notice reaching the town. Officials say they are awaiting further test results before the advisory can be lifted.
Separately, the town's ongoing sewer project construction continues to affect traffic. Brick Kiln Road remains closed between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road, and Maravista Avenue Extension remains closed between Teaticket Highway and Mattapan Street, with both closures in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
The Board of Assessors and the Conservation Commission both have meetings scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, according to the town calendar.

The Falmouth Public Library's Main branch is running "Road to Revolution: The Boston Tea Party" as an all-day program both Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18. Also at Main, the Falmouth Garden Club meets at 10 a.m. and a Lego Free Build session runs at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17.
At the East Falmouth branch, a busy weekend slate includes the Nip & Nap Society Postpartum Support Group and an "Intro to Sound and Energy for Relaxation and Wellbeing" session on Saturday, July 18, along with a Scavenger Hunt, "It's Game Time!" and a Silly Variety Show with balloon twisting. The North Falmouth branch is hosting its own scavenger hunt on Friday, July 17, at 2 p.m., part of a full slate of summer children's programming running across all three library locations this month.
