Yarmouth Board of Health grants Sea Dog Brew Pub a plastic-cup variance through October 2026. The board voted unanimously Monday to allow Sea Dog owner Peter Lucido to exhaust existing inventory of roughly 5,400 plastic cups across three sizes — with lead times he estimated at three to five months — before switching to compliant alternatives under the town's plastic-reduction regulation. Subway on White's Path operator Lori Turay told the board she had sourced fully compliant compostable products through Amazon and no longer needed the variance she had previously sought. The board also held a lengthy discussion on whether routine plastic waivers should be processed administratively by Health Agent Barry rather than requiring business owners to appear before the full board, reaching an informal consensus that Barry will handle routine cases and refer large-volume or complicated requests — including the still-unresolved Shaw's application — to the board.
