Eastham Conservation Commission Continues Sparrow Road Cases Over Unpermitted Tire Removal

EASTHAM — April 14, 2026 — Eastham Conservation Commission delays three Sparrow Road coastal permits over unpermitted removal of more than 100 tires from a tidal flat. Commission Chair Karen Strauss told applicant representative Tim Brady at the April 14 meeting that satellite imagery showed over 100 tires — including large truck tires with rims — at the flat owned by Bradford Jr. and Stacy Lynwood as recently as 2018, with no permit filed for their removal; both filings SE19-30 and SE19-267 were continued to May 12 pending a written narrative from the owner documenting how and where the tires were disposed of. The commission did approve six other certificates of compliance, including three for 11 Nikoma Way, and continued the town's 16-mile Phase One wastewater project hearing to April 28 with Conservation Agent Alex directed to draft a tailored order of conditions addressing SCADA monitoring thresholds, hydrostatic testing, and emergency notification near wetland resource areas; project manager Jackie Tucker noted the project carries a mid-May funding deadline.
