Harwich Brooks Academy Commission appoints new clerk and weighs $200,000 cupola funding gap. At its May 20 meeting, the commission unanimously named new member Kyle McDonald as clerk, bringing the board to a full complement. Chair Bob Nickerson said the restoration project has not yet gone out to bid and warned that the budget may fall short of covering full cupola restoration by an estimated $200,000, telling members the cupola "was the one" item that might be cut.

The board discussed assembling volunteer skilled woodworkers to restore cupola elements on the ground, using a CNC wood-carving machine at the Cape Cod Makers space on the 204 to produce replica pieces for sale, and drafting a letter to the editor of the Cape Cod Chronicle to update the public. A Garden Club member said the club has set aside $5,000 toward post-restoration landscaping. Town videographer Jamie Goodwin has agreed to document the restoration process in a multi-phase video series.
