Council on Aging · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Harwich Council on Aging lines up October author talks, migration lecture and its annual Halloween bash. Rosa Wright of the COA told Harwich Channel that authors Judith Stiles ("Hush, Little Fire") and Richard Zaff ("The Strange Story of Maria Hallett," a New York Times bestseller) visit Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, followed by naturalist Phil Kyle's Oct. 22 talk on "fall migration magic." The COA's Halloween party, called potentially "the biggest party that we have every year," runs Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m. for seniors, costumes welcome. Wright also confirmed the Cape Cod Bridge trip, fully booked, now meets Oct. 8 at Brooks Free Library, and that Medicare's SHINE open enrollment runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, with counseling appointments booked by phone at 508-430-7550.
