Harwich's Brooks Academy Museum Commission reviewed architectural drawings for a major building renovation and debated ramp materials constrained by the town's National Historic District rules. The commission examined exterior changes to the building on Sisson Road — including restoring a door to its original window configuration based on an 1890s photograph — and interior modifications to accommodate a Lula lift and reconfigured second-floor exhibit and collection storage spaces. The commission's chair said he hopes to enlist local Cape Cod Woodturners to reproduce ornamental cupola elements at no charge, pending architect approval. A proposed outdoor amphitheater, tabled because member Paul was absent, is expected back on the agenda at the next meeting.
