Other Committee · Meeting of October 15, 2026
HARWICH — The Harwich Community Preservation Committee reviewed 19 CPA funding applications for fiscal 2028 and rescinded $57,213.55 in unused balances from three completed projects. Harwich Conservation Trust's Michael Lack and Kelly Grant presented three requests totaling $550,000, including $150,000 toward a $330,000 Six Ponds Hawksnest Woods purchase and $200,000 toward a $400,000 Herring River Marsh View property. Lack said the trust has "a strong track record in partnering with the town." The committee ruled a Mariners application ineligible because the group does not own the property involved, asking it to reapply next round.
DPW's Sean Libby sought contingency funds for the Brooks Academy roof and cupola project; member Kathy flagged a discrepancy between the $247,000 application total and Libby's $343,100 bid estimate.
