Other Committee · Meeting of November 4, 2026
ORLEANS — The Orleans Historical Commission approved three Community Preservation Committee funding applications and voted to seek a Select Board hearing. Members voted 4-0 on an archaeology request, 5-0 on a public education program, and 5-0 on a $20,000 preservation consulting request after deleting local historic district language. The public education request, described as roughly $75,000 for a consultant, was amended so the consultant would present a plan and then carry it out.
A 5-0 vote asked staff to schedule a Select Board presentation seeking resources for demolition-delay changes, a 75-year threshold and an 18-month delay, aimed at spring 2027 Town Meeting. The earliest Select Board date is Jan. 6, and a joint meeting with the Planning Board is set for Nov. 10 at 4 p.m.
