JERA Americas Sets Sept. 3 Meeting on Canal Storage Project
SANDWICH — JERA Americas, owner of the Canal Generating Plant, will hold a public meeting Sept. 3 to present a proposed energy storage project at the plant site, the town's News Flash announced this week. It is the first public airing of the plan and gives residents a chance to hear directly from the company before any formal review begins.

JERA Americas will present its proposed Canal Generating Plant energy storage project at a public meeting Sept. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Center for Active Living, according to a notice the town shared on JERA's behalf. The notice did not detail the project's scope or size; residents are invited to attend and put questions directly to the company.
Separately, crews closed Christopher Hollow Road and nearby streets on Aug. 26 and 27 for paving, with full access restored at the end of each work day, the town said.
