Orleans Finance Committee reorganizes under new chair, sets sewer debt as fall priority. Member Edmund Mahoney cited Town Treasurer Scott Walker's March warning that debt service as a share of the operating budget stands at 14.8 percent and will rise to 19.86 percent after the recently approved fire station, a level Walker said Standard and Poor's would flag. Abel said he will prepare a debt-service analysis in PowerPoint for distribution before the September 10 meeting, and the committee agreed to request the most current sewer expenditure forecast for the same session.
