Orleans Affordable Housing Trust reviews finances and land strategy in rare training session. Staff planner Elizabeth told the board the trust has raised roughly $2.3 million since its founding and holds a current balance of $1.8 million, net of a $1.5 million commitment to the Governor Prince housing project, whose comprehensive-permit hearing opens May 20 before the Zoning Board of Appeals. One member called $2,400 rent for a two-bedroom unit "not affordable," while others pressed for a bigger trust role in town land decisions after the Select Board voted to demolish the old fire-rescue station without weighing a housing alternative. No formal votes on trust business were taken; members adjourned unanimously.
