Sandwich closes out America 250 week with July 4 Recreation Department festivities

**Saturday, July 4** — Sandwich wraps up its weeklong "Sandwich Celebrates America 250" community celebration today with the Recreation Department's annual Independence Day festivities, capping a series of family-friendly events that began June 27 to mark the nation's 250th anniversary. The town is asking residents and visitors to celebrate safely and heed the ongoing "Slow Down – In Our Town" campaign throughout the busy holiday.

**Tuesday, July 7** — The Planning Board meets, with a public hearing also noticed for that evening. The Commission on Disability Subcommittee and the Historic District Committee are also holding sessions, with the Historic District Committee conducting a site visit meeting.

**Wednesday, July 8** — The Sandwich Historical Commission holds its regular meeting. Road resurfacing work on Christopher Hollow Road and nearby roadways is also slated to begin July 8; work runs Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with periodic access delays possible but full access restored at the end of each workday.

**Thursday, July 9** — The Sandwich Town Band kicks off its summer concert series, with additional performances scheduled July 16, July 23, and July 30.

**Friday, July 24** — The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce hosts the inaugural Mill Creek Rubber Ducky Derby, the first edition of what the Chamber is billing as a new community event.
