Sandwich Finalizes Updated Town Charter After State Approval
The Town of Sandwich announced that its updated Town Charter has been finalized after approval by the Massachusetts Legislature and Governor, while road resurfacing work began this week on Christopher Hollow Road.

The Town of Sandwich confirmed that the updated Town Charter is now finalized following approval by the Massachusetts Legislature and the Governor. The finalized document is posted on the town website for residents to review.
Road resurfacing work was anticipated to begin July 8 on Christopher Hollow Road and surrounding roadways, according to the town's announcement. Work is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with access to area homes periodically delayed but fully restored at the end of each workday.
The town also posted official results from the May 4, 2026 Annual Town Meeting and the May 7, 2026 Annual Town Election, thanking residents who participated. Separately, the Sandwich Police Department announced it has earned Re-Accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission.
With America 250 celebrations and the summer season approaching, the Department of Public Works and Police Department relaunched the "Slow Down – In Our Town" public safety campaign. The town also reminded residents that 2026 beach stickers are available for purchase online or in person at the Tax Collector's Office at Town Hall, and shared spring lawn care tips tied to its Stormwater Management Program as part of ongoing efforts to protect local waters.

The Sandwich Town Band's Summer Concert Series continues this month, with upcoming performances scheduled for July 16, July 23, and July 30. The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce will also host the 1st Mill Creek Rubber Ducky Derby on July 24.
