ORLEANS — The Snow Library Board of Trustees voted 4-0 to hire an outside consultant to develop its fiscal year 2028-2032 strategic plan. Library Director Tavi Prugno told the board the town must now run a formal request-for-proposals process, which he said takes a couple of months. Jerry, president of the Friends of Snow Library, said he "strongly supports an outside consultant" and pledged to seek board approval for partial funding.
Trustees separately delayed a vote on a draft artificial intelligence policy after Assistant Director Kaimi Lum questioned whether staff searches of patron names on Google, which uses AI, would violate the draft's privacy language. The board also approved its September 8 minutes 4-0 and heard that the library circulated 185,000 items and issued 472 new cards in 2025.
