Truro Childcare Voucher Applications Due August 31

Residents have two deadlines converging this weekend: applications for the town's childcare voucher program close August 31, and Tuesday, September 1 brings the state primary election with a Select Board office-hours session sandwiched in between.

TOWN HALL

The town is reminding families that applications for the Childcare Voucher Program are due by 4 p.m. on August 31 to receive funding for the full year, according to the town's News Flash postings. A second application window will open in February 2027, but only if funding remains available, so families who miss Monday's deadline may have to wait months for another chance.

Town Hall also flagged the upcoming State Primary Election on September 1, pointing residents to information on new ballot colors, party rules, early voting opportunities, and faster poll-pad check-ins. Select Board member Susan Areson is scheduled to hold office hours on Monday, August 31, giving residents a last chance to raise questions with a board member ahead of the primary.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Truro Public Library has a new exhibit on view in the Anne H. Brock Room: paintings of "Land & Sea" by artist Elizabeth Lazeren Daglio. The library is also promoting its ongoing Virtual Author Talks series, sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, though no new session dates were listed in this week's update.
