Truro Opens Childcare Voucher Applications Ahead of Aug. 31 Deadline
Truro families have until 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 to apply for the town's childcare voucher program, which covers a full year of assistance. The town also finished moving 2026 short-term rental registration fully online, and the library unveiled a new community art exhibit this week.
TOWN HALL
Truro's Childcare Voucher Program is accepting applications through 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 for households seeking help covering a full year of childcare costs, according to the town. A second application period will open in February 2027, but only if funding remains available after this round.
Separately, the town has completed its shift to an entirely online process for 2026 short-term rental registration. Property owners can no longer pay by mail, phone, or in person at Town Hall; the 2026 permit fee is $450, which includes the required inspection.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
At the Truro Public Library, a new exhibit, "Garden Art: A Community Show," is now on display in the Anne H. Brock Room, showcasing garden-themed work from local community members.

Truro voters can cast primary ballots in person during early voting at Town Hall on Monday, Aug. 24, and Tuesday, Aug. 25, ahead of the Sept. 1 state primary.
