Truro Opens Public Input on Decade-Long Open Space Plan
TRURO — Truro Central School is celebrating two longtime educators for decades of service, while the town moves forward this week on updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan and interviewing candidates for the Finance Committee.

The town is asking residents to weigh in on its Open Space and Recreation Plan update, which will set Truro's priorities for parks, trails and recreational resources for the next decade. Residents can share ideas through a community forum, by emailing pio@truro-ma.gov, or by visiting www.truro-ma.gov/osrplan.
Town Moderator Paul Wisotzky will hold interviews with residents who have applied to serve on the Finance Committee. The interviews, originally scheduled for July 7, have been cancelled and moved to Thursday, July 9, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Town Hall, and members of the public may attend in person.
Looking ahead, the Select Board has scheduled a hybrid public hearing for July 28 at 5 p.m. to set its Goals and Objectives for the coming fiscal year and review progress on the current year's goals. Separately, the town's DPW is hiring a year-round mechanic, with applications due by August 3.
Residents should also note ongoing construction along Pole Dike Road tied to the Herring River Restoration Project; N&M Excavating is installing culvert components this week, and drivers should expect delays, with detours available via Briar Lane and Coles Neck Road.
SCHOOLS
Truro Central School is honoring two educators, Nancy Winslow and Alice Rieselbach, for more than 60 combined years of service to the school community. The town's announcement credited both women's "dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment" for shaping generations of students and strengthening the school community.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Truro Public Library is featuring new artwork in its Anne H. Brock Room, with work from The Truro Group currently on display.
The library's busy week ahead includes a Papercraft Bug Display Workshop, a Food for Kids distribution, the COA Book Club and the Stay Strong Cancer Support Group, all set for Wednesday, July 8. On Thursday, July 9, the library will host Homeless Prevention Council outreach and a Mahjong session.
