Truro Sets Sept. 16 Forum on Open Space, Recreation Plan

TRURO — Truro will hold a virtual forum on Sept. 16 to gather resident input on a new open space and recreation plan that will guide the town's outdoor and recreation priorities for the next decade, according to the town's website. Residents can also weigh in before then by emailing pio@truro-ma.gov or visiting www.truro-ma.gov/osrplan.

The forum is the centerpiece of a planning process meant to set Truro's open space and recreation direction through the mid-2030s. Town officials are inviting residents to share ideas either at the Sept. 16 session or in writing ahead of time.

In a related development, Truro's Select Board sent a letter on Aug. 11 to the Provincetown Select Board, continuing a regional exchange over water supply, a topic the town's News Flash feed has covered repeatedly this month following county officials' visit to Truro. The letter responds to a July 27 message from Provincetown; the town has not posted further detail on its contents.

Also this week, the town flagged new details on the Sept. 1 State Primary Election, including new ballot colors, revised party rules, added early voting opportunities, and poll pads meant to speed up check-in at the polls.

The Truro Public Library has introduced "Plant a Seed, Read," a new program made possible by the Friends of the Truro Library, though the library has not yet posted a start date for it.

COMING UP

Early voting for the Sept. 1 State Primary begins Friday, Aug. 28, at Town Hall. The library hosts Spin Art Bike and Moon Circles with Donna on Saturday, Aug. 29. Select Board member Susan Areson holds office hours for residents on Monday, Aug. 31.
