Dennis Launches Pet Waste Campaign to Protect Water Quality

DENNIS — The town this week rolled out a public push asking pet owners to properly dispose of pet waste to protect local water quality, timing the campaign alongside its ongoing wastewater infrastructure work and a regional paint take-back event for residents.

The town posted a notice titled "Do Your 'Doody' for Clean Water" on July 20, calling on residents to pick up after their pets to keep waste from washing into local waterways. The campaign lands as Dennis continues its broader wastewater project, an effort the town has been updating residents on in recent weeks.

Separately, the town flagged the 2026 Cape Cod Latex Paint Take-Back Day, giving residents a way to safely dispose of or recycle old latex paint rather than sending it to the trash.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Dennis Public Library, 5 Hall Street in Dennis Port, has set "Cape Cod History: 12 Stories for 12 Generations" for Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m., a talk exploring local history for area residents. The library's summer calendar also includes a Family Game Day on Wednesday, July 22.
