Sandwich Closes Town Hall, Opens Cooling Center for July 4th Holiday Weekend

**Friday, July 3 (all day)** — The Sandwich Center for Active Living (CAL) is open today as a cooling center, continuing coverage that began Wednesday, July 2, as high temperatures and elevated heat index values persist across the region. Residents are encouraged to stop in if they need relief from the heat.

**Saturday, July 4 — July 4th Sandwich 5K Road Race** — The Recreation Department caps off the weeklong Sandwich Celebrates America 250 festivities with the annual Independence Day 5K Road Race on Saturday morning. The race is part of a full day of community events marking the nation's 250th anniversary.

**Saturday, July 4 — Independence Day Parade** — The annual Independence Day Parade rolls through Sandwich on July 4 as part of the America 250 celebration. The town is asking drivers and spectators to heed the "Slow Down – In Our Town" campaign throughout the holiday weekend.

**Saturday, July 4 — Picnic in the Park & Famous Egg Toss** — The Recreation Department's Picnic in the Park and the town's beloved Egg Toss return on the Fourth, rounding out a full slate of family-friendly activities that have defined Sandwich's America 250 weeklong celebration running June 27 through July 4.
