Separately, the Board of Assessors said it is completing Truro's FY27 property value certification, a process required every five years under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 40, Section 56, to achieve full and fair cash value. Preliminary FY27 values are now available for public review.
The Walsh Property Advisory Committee is seeking five voting members and two alternates to fill vacancies with staggered terms. The town said a revised committee charge is expected to be posted in mid-July, and applications to serve are due July 22 at 4 p.m.
Truro's town moderator appointed Cass Johnson and Clint Kershaw to the Finance Committee for three-year terms expiring June 30, 2029, according to a message posted this month.
The Select Board will hold a hybrid public hearing July 28 at 5 p.m. to set its FY27 goals and objectives and to review the current year's accomplishments.
The town is also updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan, which will set Truro's open space and recreation priorities for the next decade. Residents can weigh in at a community forum, by emailing pio@truro-ma.gov, or through the town's website.
Barnstable County is separately sharing information about a proposed Charter Study Commission that will appear as a ballot question on the November 2026 state election ballot, including candidate requirements and filing deadlines.

The library also highlighted two community contributions this week: a "Plant a Seed, Read" initiative made possible by the Friends of the Truro Library, and a new exhibit, "Art in the Anne H. Brock Room," featuring work from the Truro Group.
