Bourne Planning Board OKs Cannabis Drive-Thru
Planning Board · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Bourne Planning Board approves cannabis drive-thru, stalls on battery storage land deal. Members voted 5-0 to approve Site Plan Review 515A, adding a drive-thru pickup window at Cape White Cannabis, 120 MacArthur Boulevard, after applicant representative Kevin Howe described an ID-verification process modeled on a similar Quincy location. Separately, attorney John Clavens of Clavens Law Group told the board a proposed battery storage facility on Chapter 61A land at 0 Borndale Road could bring the town "at least $3 million" a year in tax payments, while removing the land from 61A would trigger about $70,000 in rollback taxes.
One member said backing a recommendation now would mean "putting the cart before the horse." The board declined to vote on any recommendation, citing insufficient information about clearing scope, buffer zones and a nearby pending 300-unit housing project, and asked to hear directly from the developer.
