Board continues hearing on trust's education center
Planning Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Harwich Planning Board delays vote on conservation trust's Route 28 education center. The board continued the Harwich Conservation Trust's application, filed by Executive Director Michael W. Latch and President Thomas M.
Evans, to convert a 5,146-square-foot house into a nearly 9,870-square-foot learning center and office, to Oct. 12. Members separately voted unanimously to release the final $33,000 in surety for Eastward Companies' Ladue Landing subdivision, after the town's engineer, VHB, recommended the move, and unanimously endorsed the Dewart Drive road plan. Draft minutes from five prior meetings passed 4-1, with Chair Duncan Berry abstaining.
Staff reported the Select Board created a new zoning bylaw task force, thanking "Brian Sullivan, chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as Duncan Berry, our esteemed chair, for moving this effort forward," and said Harwich has met its 66-unit Housing Production Plan threshold.
