Conservation panel OKs contested guest house permit
Conservation · Meeting of October 1, 2026
Yarmouth conservation board approves contested guest house permit over a member's objection. The commission voted to amend an existing order of conditions for a guest house, reinforced parking and expanded tree mitigation at 64 White Cedar Road, despite commission member Bradford arguing a new notice of intent was "the appropriate vehicle" rather than an amendment. Engineer Danny Gonzalez said the guest house adds no net bedrooms and keeps all hardscape outside the 50-foot buffer; the plan replaces three removed trees, totaling roughly 40 inches of diameter, with 17 new trees.
Conservation Administrator Brittany DiRienzo told members she had advised the amendment path since no variances were required. The vote carried with at least two members recorded in opposition. The commission separately approved five certificates of compliance and continued a 19 Covey Drive pool-and-addition request to October 15.
