Select Board To Set FY27 Goals Ahead Of Pan-Mass Challenge
TRURO — The Select Board will hold a hybrid public hearing Tuesday to set its fiscal year 2027 goals and objectives, while the town prepares for thousands of cyclists passing through during Sunday's Pan-Mass Challenge.

Truro's Select Board will hold a hybrid public meeting on Tuesday, July 28, at 5 p.m. to state its Goals & Objectives for the coming fiscal year, review the current year's goals, and assess its accomplishments against them, according to the town's News Flash feed. The meeting gives residents a chance to weigh in on priorities before they're finalized.
The town is also updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan, which will guide Truro's open space and recreation priorities for the next decade. Residents can share ideas through a community forum, by emailing pio@truro-ma.gov, or by visiting the town's OSR plan webpage.
Separately, the Department of Public Works is hiring a year-round union mechanic position at 40 hours per week. Applications and license copies are due by Monday, August 3, at 3 p.m.
Ahead of Sunday, town officials flagged that the annual Pan-Mass Challenge will bring thousands of cyclists, volunteers and supporters through Truro between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. as riders head toward Provincetown.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Truro Public Library has a busy stretch of programming ahead. On Saturday, July 25, the library will host "Tech Help with Caleb" alongside an Ice Cream Making Workshop. The following Tuesday, July 28, brings both a Mahjong session and the Children's Community Garden Group. On Wednesday, July 29, the library will present "A Song & Story Celebration with Davis Bates" along with its Food for Kids program.
The library also highlighted its "Plant a Seed, Read" initiative, made possible by the Friends of the Truro Library, and an art exhibit, "Art in the Anne H. Brock Room," featuring work from the Truro Group.
